CHARLES RULE was the son of Capt.John Rule . He is mentioned in Captain John Rule's will which named him as executor and Administrator. Walter Stuart Rule in his History of the Rule Family, Published in 1941 by the Pentecostal Publishing Co. of Louisville, Kentucky quotes "Charles Rule, his Bible - to be given him after the decease of me the 'Subscriber - John Rule' January 10,1910." Departed this life John Rule, May 26,1810" Departed this life Sarah, the wife of John Rule the 27th day of August, 1785".

The State of New Jersey, Department of Defense, at Trenton "pertaining to the service of CHARLES RULE, who served in the active military forces from New Jersey during the Revolutionary War 1775-1783 CHARLES RULE - Received Certificate No. 624, dated May 10,1784, for L:16:8 (this may be a British Pound symbol preceding number-JR 01-13-02), for the depreciation of his continental pay in the Somerset County Militia" dated q.-10-1963 and signed by Samuel F. Brink, Colonel, NJANG Adjutant General.
