Our branch of the Rule family claims descent from William Brewster, the minister of the Plymouth Colony. As a result descendents are eligible for membership in the Mayflower Society. The Colony had only 26 surnames that passed down from the original members. Our family is descended through Brewster: Lester: Bacon: Rule.
