Nick Heinle, what are you going to say about this kid? I loved Javascript Tip of the Week and this site is even better. Started mainly to promote his new book, Designing with Javascript the site is packed with great practical tips of how to "use" javascript to make your site better.

I'll talk about the book first and later I'll get into the site.

The book is written for novices to understand. Instead of slogging through endless pages of syntax for functions and methods it dives right in with examples that any HTML scripter can understand. He starts off easy with status bar text on mouseovers and gradually builds throughout the book until in the end he discusses DHTML. All the while you're introduced to functions, methods and the syntax of javascript. Great book for HTML scripters who come from a design background and now need to enter scripting/programming to stay cutting edge.

OK, now the site. Lots of work went into this site. Some is content ported over from Nick's Javascript Tip of the Week column. However, there are also a lot of DHTML demos. The site is somewhat confusing because there are several areas that contain demos under different names, including: How-To, Scriptorium and Demos. All of these areas contain demos or discussions of DHTML. Including:

Visual Filters with CSS -
The Amazing Event Model, Part I
The Amazing Event Model, Part II
Lights, Camera, Animation! (Most flexible animation script on the web)
Create Your Own Topic Index
Absolute Positioning with CSS
The Definitive Rollover Script
An Intelligent Mail Form
Dynamic HTML
A Simple Sound Solution
The Grand Tour
Sunrise, Sunset

This along with Inside DHTML are among the best DHTML sites on the web. I'd like to think my site resides in the same league. As with Javascript Tip of the Week, these DHTML examples will become the backbone of many sites on the web.
